NIvO is a database and website richer

With the takeover of the Kerk & Orgel website and the underlying database, NIvO takes on the management of the 'life's work' of organist and conductor Flip Veldmans.

Flip Veldmans was organist and conductor of the St-Gummaruskerk in Steenbergen and taught at the Gemeentelijke Muziek- en balletschool in Bergen op Zoom. He studied organ, piano and choral conducting at the Netherlands Institute for Church Music in Utrecht, where Bernard Bartelink was one of his teachers. He obtained his organ solo diploma at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Arie J. Keizer. After that he further refined his organ playing with Stanislas Deriemaeker in Antwerp. For about 30 years he was on the regional and national boards of the Dutch St. Gregory Society (NSGV), for which he gave many courses and lectures to train church organists. So Flip Veldmans had a passion for the history of churches and organs. Already at a young age he collected dispositions of organs. In more than thirty years he collected an enormous amount of data, which he mainly used for his concert practice. At a certain moment his son Ferdinand entered these data in a database. The database is made accessible by the website kerk-en-orgel.nl.

For the time being, the website will be accessible through the NIvO website and the domain name Kerk & Orgel will continue to exist. The database will be placed on NIvO's server and in time it is the intention to integrate the data into NIvO's database.
